Dear investors and entrepreneurs,
I am proud of the accomplishments that I have made in business, real estate and investing. It has really taken me from just thinking about financial freedom to actually experiencing it. Real estate investing has and always will be one of the safest and surest strategies to wealth. Even in a down market, there is always a niche in real estate that makes sense.
I’ve been investing in real estate for more than 20 years, ever since I purchased my first home with no money down, taking advantage of government programs and the ability to borrow against a 401(k) at work. I’ve owned and managed rental properties, invested in foreclosures, and purchases tax liens and deeds.
I am constantly reading about investing, and some of my favorite influences have been Robert Allen, Carleton Sheets and Charles Givens.
When I discovered tax sales, I was immediately fascinated. I began learning everything I could, and eventually co-wrote the Rogue Real Estate Investor Collection in 2001. I have participated in tax lien and tax deed sales all over the country (public auctions, Internet auctions, and over-the-counter), including in the following states: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, and Washington. I’ve even used my self-directed IRA to purchase liens and deeds.
I have been invited to speak with industry giants, such as Harv Eker (author of The Millionaire Mind); have spoken to some of the largest real estate investing clubs in North America; and have been quoted in Money Magazine on the topic of tax liens.
One of my goals has always been helping others, and as an educator I love to write and teach about what I have learned. I’ve been conducting tax sale investing workshops since 2004, and one of the best parts for me is watching people attend their first sale and being there to coach them through it.
