Accretion.
Also
known as alluvium, accretion is the addition to land through
natural processes, such as deposits of soil through carriage
by rivers.
For
instance, a peninsula was part of a purchased parcel, and it
measured 342 yards in length. Ten years later, at sale,
the accretion has added another 16 yards through the slow
deposits of silt over the decade. This would then allow
that the peninsula would be 358 yards in length.
