General
Lien.
A
lien that will hold to it, all of the properties, including
personal, owned by the debtor as opposed to one particular
property.
For
instance, John does not pay his rent for 6 months, and
has vacated the property. The property owner or landlord
obtains a general lien against John by going to secure a
judgment against John. If John does not pay the
delinquent rent at this time the property owner can apply for
a specific lien against John's furniture and it may be sold.
