purchase of property/structures and the simultaneous lease of
that property/structure
back to the seller. In general, the leasing portion of
the contract is long term.
For
instance, John purchases an office building from Jack.
Jack arranges a sale-leaseback option which entitles him to
cash for purchase and a 20 year lease. John will
actually have a 20 year income stream, as well as reversion to
the property at the end of the lease
